Invest in a Dream

7 Mar

Take a moment to think of your favorite book or movie.  Now, imagine that particular book/movie didn’t survive the journey from where it was first conceived in the creator’s mind to the final product made available for your reading/viewing pleasure.  Your life probably wouldn’t be any different, but the artist’s life would be.

Now, think of how awesome it would have been to discover that fledgling project in the early stages of development.  What if you had the chance to help bring Pride and Prejudice to the masses or Star Wars to the big screen?

I’m not trying to compare my book to something created by such icons in the artistic community; I’m not even assuming that you’re reading my book.  However, each of you has the opportunity to bring this story to audiences across the globe.

Perhaps someday you’ll be passing Barnes & Noble and see The Mirrors at Barnard Hall featured in the display window.  Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could turn to the person next to you and say, “I helped put that book on the shelf.”

Or, better yet, wouldn’t you like to flip to the acknowledgements page and see your name printed there?

If you had a dream that you couldn’t bring to reality without the help of others, wouldn’t you want those people to assist you?  It takes less than five minutes to pledge $5.00; your generosity would be an investment in a lifelong dream.

Right now we’re approximately $500 shy of $2,000—according to my calculator, that’s almost halfway there!  Help make today the day we reach the tipping point.

Thank you! I figure that if I’m not dedicated then no one else will be 🙂
